General Requirements:

People working at Arcosanti normally reside at Arcosanti and pay a biweekly co-use fee of $80 which includes rent and all utilities, access to all facilities and equipment (including swimming pool, studios, music center, library, etc.), a food discount and entrance to all special events.

The successful completion of the Five Week Workshop is a requirement for residency at Arcosanti.

Position: WORKSHOP COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:
• Correspond with potential workshop participants and respond to workshop registrations
• Coordinate seminar and workshop schedules with department managers
• Provide orientation, information and ongoing assistance to workshop participants
• Work with Guest Services Manager and Camp Coordinator to manage workshop arrivals and housing
• Schedule and supervise weekly clean-up synergies
• Monitor workshop participation and resolve any attendance or behavior issues
• Coordinate Cosanti field trip
• Market workshop program & coordinate outreach programs

• Manage volunteer schedules & timecards
• Develop and coordinate custom workshops

Communicate and coordinate returns with Arcosanti alumni

Requirements:
• Successful completion of the Arcosanti Workshop
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Strong organizational and managerial skills

Position: NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Responsibilities:
• Design and install network infrastructure
• Purchase, install and maintain all computer equipment,  both software and hardware
• Purchase, configure and oversee use of all servers connected  to the network including web, mail, file and database servers
• Design, install and maintain a backup system for all  Cosanti Foundation-related files
• Purchase and evaluate all related services provided off-site, including Internet service providers, domain registration,  etc.
• Educate, train and provide technical assistance to network users
• Hire, train, supervise and evaluate Network Assistant  and interns
• Develop budget and consult with Information and Design Officer on major infrastructure projects
• Recordkeeping as necessary and appropriate
• Maintain clean and orderly work area

Requirements:
• Minimum of 1 year experience in networking within a LAN/WAN  environment and familiarity with virtual private networks
• Minimum of 1 year administering Unix/Linux servers and familiarity with Mac OSX server, FreeBSD and RedHat Linus
• Minimum of 1 year administering Macintosh and PC Desktops  in a network environment
• Working knowledge 56k, Frame Relay or T-1 lines
• Working knowledge of Macintosh  and PC desktop software packages, including MS Office and  AutoCADWorking knowledge of Macintosh and PC hardware repair  and maintenance; switches and patch panels; physical Ethernet  (CAT 5) and fiber optic wiring
• Working knowledge of client/server technologies including AppleTalk, NetBios, apple remote desktop, ftp, sendmail,  apache
• Working knowledge of Cisco routers
• Working knowledge of Internet/intranet,  including strong knowledge of TCP/IP, NAT firewalls, and  DHCP
• 24/7 availability in case of emergency

Position:  CONSTRUCTION CREW

Responsibilities:
• Complete assigned work projects on time and proficiently
• Assist Crew Leader in supervision of workshop participants  and volunteers
• Maintain a safe and orderly work site
• Report inventory needs to Crew Leader
• Attend Habitat Group meetings as requested and Construction Crew meetings regularly
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• Construction experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to work with diverse individuals in a learning environment
• Willingness to learn and  work on projects outside one’s immediate area of interest or expertise
• Willingness to accept responsibility

Position:  FACILITIES MAINTENANCE STAFF

Responsibilities:
• General site maintenance and repairs as assigned (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, wood working, etc.)
• Swimming pool cleaning, maintenance and record keeping
• Assist in new consrtuction as needed
• Assist in event setup and clean up as needed
• Track inventory and report purchase needs to
• Maintain clean and orderly worspace and work site
• Attend Habitat Group meetings on request
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and basic carpentry/construction skills
• Self-motivated
• Team player

Position: LANDSCAPING STAFF

Responsibilities:
• Basic care and maintenance of lawns, flower beds, trees, and general facility and access roads as assigned
• Grounds improvement and expansion projects as assigned.

• General laborer assisting the landscape or other department supervisors and group leaders in various tasks and projects
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• Experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of the care of plants, bushes, trees, etc. preferred
• Ability to use all equipment associated with grounds maintenance preferred
• Ability to work well with others in both a subordinate position as well as in a minor supervisory capacity for small group projects
• Self motivated as an individual and in a group environment with a willingness to seek out direction (ask questions) when no clear direction is immediately apparent
• Punctual and reliable even in extreme weather conditions
• At least a 6 month commitment required

Position: GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Responsibilities:
• Preparation and production of print and electronic publications
• Design and produce promotional materials, including posters, brochures, flyers, invitations,CD-ROMs, DVD, etc.
• Provide graphic support for exhibitions and other special activities as assigned

Requirements:
•Well versed in graphic design, image management and desktop publication software
• Graphic design experience in print and electronic media

Position: WEBSITE ASSISTANT

Responsibilities:
•Assist website managers in developing/updating web contents
•Monitor website to keep the information updated
•Work with other departments and manage a group of volunteers
when needed
•Record-keeping as necessary and appropriate
•Maintain clean and orderly work area

Requirements:
•Successful completion of the Arcosanti Workshop
•Strong writing/editorial and organizational skills
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and image management programs
